Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies, and interests.
Hello! I'm deeply passionate about various forms of creativity and intellectual pursuits. Literature is a significant part of my life; reading and writing are integral activities for me. I find joy in immersing myself in captivating narratives and exploring the depths of imagination through storytelling. Beyond literature, I also express myself through visual art, particularly painting, which allows me to channel my emotions and perceptions onto canvas, creating vibrant and evocative pieces.
In the realm of digital entertainment, I am an avid video game enthusiast. Engaging in interactive storytelling and immersive gameplay provides a unique form of relaxation and escapism. Despite my creative inclinations, I also enjoy staying active and embracing the outdoors. Swimming serves as both a recreational activity and a means of maintaining physical fitness, allowing me to connect with nature and find serenity in the rhythmic flow of the water.
Professionally, I hold an associate degree in Paralegal Studies, which has equipped me with valuable skills in legal research, writing, and analysis. While my academic background lies in law, my true passion is in the realms of fantasy and science fiction. I'm drawn to the limitless possibilities and fantastical worlds that these genres offer, finding inspiration and fascination in their exploration of the human condition and the unknown.
About Me and My Books
I write in the Epic/High Fantasy genre, which might seem obvious given my focus on elves and dragons, but you’d be surprised how often I get asked about it! So far, I’ve published four books: three in the Elves of Vacari series and the first book of my new series, Dragons of Vacari. The Elves of Vacari series has been an incredible journey for me, a chance to explore the rich lore and deep character arcs within the world of Vacari.
With the launch of Dragons of Vacari, I’m thrilled to be taking readers into an exciting new corner of this fantasy world. I’m working hard on the second book in this series, so the number of published books will likely increase soon! This new series has been an exhilarating opportunity to delve into fresh stories and characters, and I can’t wait to share more.
When and why did you start writing books?
My journey as a writer began during my formative years in high school when I first discovered the power of storytelling. However, despite my initial passion for writing, I faced discouragement from my father, who didn't view it as a viable career path. Consequently, I set aside my creative aspirations and pursued other endeavors. It wasn't until later, while I was pursuing my associate degree in Paralegal Studies, that I rediscovered my love for writing.
Amidst the rigors of academia and the demands of professional development, I found solace and inspiration in writing. It became a means of self-expression and a refuge from the stresses of daily life. Encouragement and support from my loved ones, particularly my boyfriend and my mom, played a pivotal role in reigniting my passion for writing. Their belief in my talent and unwavering encouragement propelled me forward, instilling in me the confidence to pursue my dreams once more.
What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?
The decision to pursue writing as a career was deeply rooted in my passion for the craft itself. Writing has always been more than just a hobby or pastime for me; it's a fundamental aspect of who I am. The joy and fulfillment I experience when immersed in the creative process are unparalleled.
As I delved deeper into my writing journey, I realized that it wasn’t just a fleeting interest — it was my calling. Embracing writing as a career wasn't just a practical decision; it was a deeply personal and meaningful choice that allowed me to align my passion with my profession.
Which one of your books or characters is your favorite?
Keisha, the Eladrin Elf, holds a special place in my heart. She embodies traits and experiences that resonate deeply with me on a personal level, especially when it comes to trust, emotional strength, and healing. Her journey mirrors my own in many ways. Her resilience and growth continue to inspire me.
Which book was the hardest to write and stretched you the most?
Healing Bonds, the third book of the Elves of Vacari series, was the most emotionally challenging and creatively demanding. The themes of trauma, redemption, and the healing power of connection required me to dig deep and infuse real emotional weight into the narrative. It pushed me beyond my comfort zone and helped me grow as a writer.
Your characters are incredibly layered and emotionally real, especially under pressure. How do you write such vivid, authentic character arcs?
Much of it comes from lived experience. I grew up in an environment where I often retreated to my imagination for safety — not because of physical harm, but because emotional pressure, blame, and constant criticism were just as damaging. That shaped how I understand strength, especially quiet strength.
When I write characters like Keisha, I’m not imagining what hardship looks like — I’m remembering what it feels like. But more importantly, I focus on what comes after: how we stand again, how love and loyalty help us heal, and how resilience can be soft, not loud. My characters reflect that journey — not just surviving, but reclaiming their power on their own terms. It’s not a secret formula. It’s empathy, memory, and truth.
Who is your favorite author and book?
Besides my own work and the Elven Alliance Series by Tara Grayce, I’d say J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. It was a gateway into the magic of storytelling and still holds a special place in my heart.
What book are you reading right now?
I'm currently focused on my own series, but I've also been reading Golden Gods on the side. It's a rich, immersive book that offers a great balance to my writing process.
Where do you get your inspiration for your books?
My imagination is my greatest source. Since I was young, I’ve used it to create vivid, immersive worlds that reflect everything from epic themes to emotional truths. It’s not just an escape — it’s a creative core.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Writing, painting, and gaming (especially Final Fantasy XIV and Star Wars: The Old Republic) take up most of my creative energy. I also enjoy swimming and anything that helps me recharge while staying connected to inspiration.
Do you have any new books in the works?
Yes! Shadows of Betrayal, the second book in the Dragons of Vacari series, is in production. I'm also developing multiple series: Shadows of the Sylvan, Depth of Destiny: A Merfolk Saga, and Passion's Quest. Lots more to come!
How do you come up with your characters?
Most of my characters are fictional but often influenced by real people or animals. For instance, my panther character was inspired by my real-life rescued black cat. I also draw from personal observations, emotional truths, and a blend of empathy and imagination.
What makes your writing style unique?
My background in law sharpened my attention to structure and detail, while my love of fantasy helped shape my immersive style. I go through several editing rounds and rely on trusted feedback to refine each book. The result is fantasy writing that’s rich, emotional, and thoughtfully polished.
What inspires you to write fantasy?
I’ve always loved epic worlds with high stakes and deep emotional arcs. Stories like Clash of the Titans inspired me, but I wanted to create something original. In Dragons of Vacari, I explore ancient magic, layered conflicts, and characters fighting to define themselves. That kind of complexity is what inspires me most.
What is the timeline for your journey from writing to publication?
After completing the first draft, I go through 3–4 rounds of editing, register the manuscript with the US Copyright Office, and then move to publishing. It’s a meticulous process, but one I find rewarding and necessary to uphold the quality I strive for.
How did you create Vacari?
Vacari is a fully original world that grew over time. It began with a spark and expanded with each book as new lands, histories, and characters were introduced. I continue to evolve the world and am even imagining adjacent realms that may one day connect to the Vacari universe.
