Vacari's Resurgence: Healing Bonds: The Elves of Vacari by T.A. McEvoy is an immense fantasy novel that immerses the reader into Vacari, the land where civil war has just ended. The author intertwines the problems of how to feel with the problems of what to do in a world of a realm in repair in a masterful way.
There is use of concrete features in the descriptions, and the characters portrayed are all rounded, giving the readers a strong setup to the story.
This novel is better suited for those fans of epic fantasy, as the action definitely builds slowly with strong, deep emotional scenes and an abundance of focus on the world and its make up.
The development of Keisha’s relationship with Kimras, the Gold Dragon, is sweet at this point. It is an authentic embrace between the two characters, and therefore their friendship, which is showcased through Keisha’s emotions of gratitude, is believable. When Kimras lifts Keisha and Ong to the sky, the scene shows the excitement and emotion of lifting a genuine friend between two humans and dragons.
The writing style used by the author is great, since there is a lot of emphasis put on narrating the mood and the great ambiance of the scenes. There is quite an emphasis on focusing on the characters’ development through the time they take to find their feelings.
If you like great settings, fabulous characters, and tales of victory after the war, this book is worth reading. I give it a rating of 5 out of 5.
