The tale "Shadows Unveiled" resound with the fantasy genre among the readers, transporting us to the realm of Vacari. Magic, darkness, and fight against evil seem unavoidable as the book is going to be epic. I am in love with the genre that will go adventure and I am attracted by the settings like D&D, "The Elder Scrolls", and Eragon's gripping narrative.
From the first line itself, the idea of the emerging conflict with the enemy warlock is able to capture the imagination. Phoenix Shadowwalker started the war and became a threat to the safety of Vacari. It is even darker remind me to some quests in Baldur’s Gate or more daunting than you might experience during nights in Skyrim. The stuff of legends.
Although all of the book features are admirable, its unique characters are what really stand out. And when we deal with feelings of poor self-esteem, frustration, and inadequacy as we struggle with the complexity of our emotions, we can mirror that with the lives of our fantasized heroes, flawless and strong as they fight their share of battles. Opposite to Ong, Phoenix is counteracting Keisha's bright side with its clarity. None of these beings are archetype, they are different and confront fears and doubts just as you choose to do it in RPG games.
The novel juxtaposes fearful battle scenes and intricate offers of advice with one another, like a skillful campaign. McEvoy demonstrates her mastery of the craft, she makes the reader feel immersed in the plot. Like the multitudes of different towns and cultures, explored in the likes of Tamriel and Alagaësia.
Pressing "Shadow Unveiled" would be traveling or making moves without getting stuck to where you are at this moment. When I turn pages, I'll be shocked to engage in new revelations quickly, like beginning of another game places. McEvoy sticks to the main point of the story. Thus you fast furiously toke the text-pages eager to know how Vacari’s story ends.
What I find incredibly interesting is a whole other universe of the most exquisite worlds and deep characters like those of Dungeon & Dragons, Baldur's Gate and Elder Scrolls. In my opinion, threre is no good reason to deny to fans of such games as access to this nugget. You will be transferred to another universe of Vacari where the heroes must fight dark will of a warlock for bad intentions. Besides, complex inner worlds, redemption and revenge are also main themes, and this complicated plot adds more to the overall fascination.
