I enjoyed reading T.A. MCEVOY's SHADOWS UNVEILED. There were many characters in this book that I loved reading through. I loved the bond between Ong and his wife, Kiesha. It is good writing on the author's part since, as a reader, I could feel the characters' emotions. She excellently described Ong's feelings when he saw Kiesha's necklace from four years ago. Knowing that a person cherishes a gift so well that they still use it four years later warmed my heart, as everyone would feel emotional. I loved the bond between Lyra and her brother, Qellaun. Despite being on the side of negativity, there was this unwavering love between them. He is the one person she always looks out for, regardless of whether she is the conductor of calamity, as the book describes her. Lyra was the conductor of chaos, and while Phoenix sent his underlings to cast shadows of malice, chaos, hate, and so on, she was super excited. I loved that she always went for what she wanted without hesitation. She knew she wanted the highest form of power but could only get it through submission to Phoenix; she did that, always staying focused on her initial goal.
The book's editing was excellent. It would have been terrible if I had to deal with poor editing amidst an amazing story like this. There are no things I dislike about this book. I give this book five out of five stars. If you love fantasy books, this book will appeal to your taste.
