When the light protectors go to sleep, darkness comes into play. T.A. MCEVOY's SHADOWS UNVEILED book follows Kiesha, Ong, and Pumpkin, the graceful Pantha. Kiesha and her husband, Ong, are the protectors of Vacari. They have an undying loyalty to their realm and their king, Manard. The heart of Afor conceals the lairs of our cruel Villan Phoenix. Lyra, the conductor of calamity, and Qellaun Deadcrusher assist him. They are at his service to carry out his every command. Phoenix gathered his shadows and launched them to spread chaos, fear, and malice upon the unknowing Vacari. Will the loyal protector Kiesha, her husband Ong, and their Pantha Pumpkin be able to keep Vacari safe? The book displays terror, chaos, dark intentions, and many more.
One thing I loved most about the book was how it introduced the characters. My favorite was Lyra. Her purpose and goals were clearly visible to everyone. She was power-hungry and would do anything and everything to get what she wanted. Her loyalty to Phoenix was only a means to an end. I loved her character because she knew exactly what she wanted, evil or not. If you're going to be bad, you might as well go all out and be as bad as anything could get.
I don't have any dislikes for this book; however, the length may pose a scary challenge for some readers. The book executed its ideas well, and I appreciated its meticulous detail. Given that this is a fantasy book, the meticulous detail is commendable, as only the author could have conceived these original ideas. If the details weren't included, the readers would not be well informed. I give this book a rating of five out of five stars. Lovers of fantasy will love this book.
