🦊 Meet Thump: The Fox Who Refuses to Be Ignored
Before the dragons roar again in Celestial Convergence, meet Thump Valeon’s newest headache and Lyra’el’s most mischievous fox.
Valeon hadn’t asked for a companion. Certainly not a fox.
But there he was fur the color of autumn fire, tail flicking, eyes gleaming with mischief. He sat right in the middle of the path to Lyra’el as if the great floating city had been built just for him.
Valeon pinched the bridge of his nose. What in all the realms was Lord Karrenen thinking, giving me this creature?
The fox blinked up at him, then thumped his tail against the stone. Once. Twice. The sound echoed like a drumbeat of defiance.
“I am not naming you,” Valeon muttered.
The tail thumped harder.
By the time he reached the gates of Lyra’el, the fox had trotted at his heels, thumping all the way through conversations, market stalls, and even in the quietest of moments when Valeon most wanted peace.
He sighed, giving in at last. “Fine. Thump it is. But don’t think for a moment you’ll be anything but trouble.”
The fox’s eyes glimmered. His tail gave a triumphant thump.
And so began the chaos.
High above, Talhira’s laughter rippled across the bond she shared with Radiantus.
“Valeon complains far too much for someone already smitten with that fox,” she teased.
Radiantus’s warm reply echoed like sunlight through clouds:
“Even the smallest companions can change a destiny. He will see it soon enough.”
